This one is another fun hike close to home. It has spectacular 360 degree views from the top.

This is on the way back down. The trail is pretty steep and slippery at this point so the railing really helps. What a fun day. Best present I could get.... a fun memory with my family! What a great day!

Cress Creek Nature Trail

This is one of our local favorites

After the hike, we ditched the kids with Grandma and Kellie and went in search of a geo-cache. Joshua ended up braking his last pair of flip flops, walking barefoot til we found the cache up the side of the mountain. Little did we know we were almost there on the nature trail with the kids, so this find was much harder than it needed to be and we ended up hiking half of the trail again coming back, but it has a much greater adventure this way. My mom and Kellie ended up leaving with the kids - we had no cell phone and were locked out of the Tahoe. I finally borrowed a phone from a stranger and could not get good enough reception to communicate the problem. My mom turned around guessing that she might have the keys in the stroller. What a day!

Oh, what fun it is to ride!

First time skiing for Anelyse we actually fot to see the life flight helicopter come. That was kind of cool.

Riding in the chairlift was the best part.

Dad slept outside on the ground. The kids and I slept in the tent. It was too cold out there - even dad got to cold and climed into the tent early in the morning.

It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To!

The mood of Anelyse almost the entire party. What a party pooper!

But not Anelyse.

The Pinata lightened the mood quite a bit but even that took a lot of convincing from mom.

I think she only ate the frosting and gave the rest to me. It works out really well for both of us because we each get the part we like the best. YUM!

After opening presents. I could not wait to take them all home! I am hoping she won't want to do that for a long time, and I will do my best to talk/ bribe her out of it.

After all the kids went home we opened more presents from mom/dad, Nana, and Baba.

"Oh Cool! My own tool purse, just what I always wanted!

She has put the tools to good use helping dad on various projects, and mom has had to borrow them on occasion.

Baba got Anelyse a wonderful wagon to pull behind her tricycle, unfortunately my camera died and the trike broke the next day. Since I am not that good at welding I tried to get uncle Carson to fix it. After waiting several weeks I gave up and did it myself. It took several attempts and the end result was a really ugly weld, but so far so good. So, consequently these pics were taken later (I think earlier in Sept.) as she was carting our harvest from the garden to the house.

What a good gardener Anelyse is. Potatoes, Carrots, Corn, Squash, etc...

What do you think he is thinking? I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
It is hard to see with the pic this small but he has a VERY MISCHIEVOUS look on his face.

Cutting Wood and Riding Bikes in Kilgore Idaho

Two weekends in a row we ended up in Kilgore to cut firewood for my mom and to ride our new dirt bikes. Here are a few pics from our adventures.

Cairn Mt. as we named it. This was an awesome spot. the whole top was covered with rock Cairns including a castle. This was our longest break as we were required by Anelyse to act out Sleeping Beauty - I was the Evil Queen, Dad was the prince, and of coarse Anelyse was Sleeping Beauty.
